The brand new competition was recently launched by David Taylor, the volunteer leading the Museum’s fundraising activity. David is asking people to send in ideas for an inspirational design to be printed onto T-shirts and other products that would then be sold in aid of the Museum’s current Development Appeal.
David Taylor said, “We are looking for an innovative new logo to raise funds for the Collections Discovery Centre – something which we can use to sell attractive items which people will want to buy and wear and show their support for the project.”
Jon Murden, Director of Dorset County Museum added, “This is just one of our new ideas to raise money for the Collections Centre. Once built it will provide fantastic access to the Museum’s huge collection of artefacts. We want everyone to get behind us to make this appeal a real success.”
Dorset County Museum’s new Collections Discovery Centre will be built behind the Museum in Dorchester. It will provide modern and expanded gallery space for displays and create public access to its currently unseen reserve collections. In addition the project will provide custom-made facilities for schools, volunteers and researchers.
Anyone wishing to enter the competition should contact the Museum on 01305 262735 or by emailing: firstname.lastname@example.org.
- Entries should fit onto a single sheet of A4 paper and can be emailed, posted or brought into the Museum.
